Comments on: Ten miles to go! VIA train No. 92 is about to cross under the Perimeter Highway as it enters the City of Winnipeg, passing the elevator which was located at mile 10.9 of the Rivers sub. After years of running with CN F7Au locomotives, VIA stopped using leased CN engines on this train and replaced them with remanufactured FP9ARM units in the spring of 1984.Units 6300-6304 were not equipped with steam generators, lightening them to 247,000 lbs (rather than the 260,000 lbs of units 6305-6314).
