Comments on: TH&B 56 doing some work at Kinnear Yard and on the “east leg” of the wye to the Belt Line. The east and west wye legs at Kinnear were equipped with electrically operated derails as well as an interlocked switch with signals. Crews needed clearance authority from the Train Dispatcher before operating on the Belt Line. Numerous “special instructions” were in effect while using the wye at Kinnear as well on the Belt Line.
Oddly enough in the satellite image of this area, it appears that the east leg has been removed since this image was taken.
Thanks to Ron Tuff for this great image from the past.

Fabulous! Note the poling pole and very heavy duty chain used to move cars on parallel tracks tucked under the frame above the front truck.
