Comments on: TH&B locomotive #57 is on boxcar switching duties at Maple Leaf Mills. The once so common boxcars that filled the Port Colborne railyards would disappear completely within a few years. The switching is holding up traffic at the King Street crossing. TH&B Van 83 is in the mix.

Hi Guys… MLM Port Colborne was the largest flour mill in the British Empire, it burned for a week in the mid 60′s and was rebuilt to it’s current layout. What you would be seeing is bagged flour…and this was pretty common to see that many 40′ boxcars lining the yards… Cheers

RMEO in Smiths Falls had the wisdom to save one of these 40′ insulated-heated boxcars, in Action Yellow no less. I liked when they were common like this…
