Comments on: TH&B running eastbound has just crested the hill at Vinemount, as seen in this image taken from the Ridge Rd overpass. Power is TH&B 75, 73, 53 and 57. Sure must be a challenge to find power when they have to throw a couple of switchers into a heavy train like this. But it was a common practice back then. Photo shot with Woolco negative film on another one of those cruddy winter days.

The overpass is still there and has been rebuilt, very modern, concrete, very wide shoulders, you can park on it easily

It’s grown in something fierce though, so you can only get head on shots..

I’ve tried a couple shots over the last few years… but the CP trains go through there quite quickly.

The noise from those Geep’s must have been wonderful to hear ! A very nice “moody” picture, evoking many good memories ! Don’t know if the Ridge Rd overpass is still there, but still a great photo location. Thanks for posting, John

When two of the switchers were rebuilt m u was added so could be used as shown in this photograph. I think it was the 52 and 57.
