Comments on: TH&B SW9 58 rests at Chatham Street Roundhouse. Built at GMD London in January 1951, the 58 would be sold to Atlas Steel for scrap in May 1988, but would avoid the torch, being sold to the Brandywine Valley Railroad in Pennsylvania as BVRY 8206. It would be transferred to the nearby Upper Merion & Plymouth Railroad as UMP 9007 in 1991, where it was operating as recently as 2017.

Never looked better! Sadly, TH&B units were neglected after CPR took 100% ownership. Sad too that 71 (first GMD unit) was wrecked at level crossing, burned and scrapped.

I managed to save 51 for the still-born Waterford & Northern tourist RR. Jeffrey Willsie stepped in acquiring it for his contract switching at Petro Canada in Clarkson.

Actually, those units were not sold to Atlas Steel. They were sold 5/25/1988 to Tony Andrusevich c/o Atlas Steel. He acquired old TH&B snow plow(s)too.
