Comments on: THE BIG LIFT. Well all of the planning and preparation is finally coming together.
Metrolinx replacement of the Humber River Bridge started a long time ago. They waited until the CNE was over and for the past 2 weekends they have been getting things in position for the big lift. This coming weekend and for the next 7 weekends starting on Friday nights until Monday mornings.
The specialized gantries are in position to remove the old spans that will be placed on waiting flat cars and the new spans (also on flatcars at VIA TMC) will be put across the river.
You can see it all taking place from the pedestrian bridge over the Humber River on The Queensway for the next 7 weekends.

Each track has 2 spans. The two spans are not visible as they are linked under the ballast.

@snake...They will do one track at a time. The tracks are numbered from north to south so the one on the far right is track one.
Each track across the bridge contain 2 spans so when they lift each track there will be 2 sections.
