Comments on: The Canadian arrived at Lake Louise station at 1140 on Saturday, May 17, 1986. VIA FP9Au 6314 leads two ex CN F9Bs 6616 and 6617. VIA extended the life of fifteen similar ex-CN units before purchasing its first F40PH-2 in 1986. CN remanufactured former CN FP9 6527 at its Moncton Shops in New Brunswick in 1985. The former station is now the Station Restaurant that includes the heavyweight dining car “Delamere.” The last Canadian passed here in January 1990 due to massive government cuts to the VIA network.
