Comments on: The CN 0700 Job is finally seen leaving Stelco, after having issues in the plant. One of the issues being that the traction motors were not properly operational in the 7241, and there was no water in the 7509. The 7241 was the main issue at hand for the crew, and they still had 6 more customers to serve after Stelco. But after having a talk with Oakville YM, he told them to only do Mana, then call it a day, otherwise they would run out of hours.

@easternontariorailfan. I think your are correct that it was Oakville yard master. When I was working as a locomotive engineer, we had to contact Oakville Yard for all work in Hamilton and Aldershot. The Oakville yardmaster also co-ordinates all the movements at Oshawa yard as well!

@ngineered4u & @BradKetchen. I have no clue how I didn’t see these responses sooner, but the 0700 job originated at Stuart. From what I can recall, they had to call someone outside of Hamilton to tell them their current situation. And I’m pretty sure it was Oakville

The train originated from Stuart St, however Oakville is the “Main” office now for Hamilton/Aldershot/Oakville Yard jobs.

The only time these guys call Oakville however is to get the gate open for Mana and Stelco or when the TM in Hamilton is not available to make a decision on week nights and weekend afternoons. Most likely the Hamiton TM was off this day so they called Oakville.

Why were the orders out of Oakville yard and not Stuart st?
