Comments on: The Confederation train ran across Canada in 1967 to celebtate 100 years of Canada. MY grandfather took this photo at the Edmonton Exhibition grounds while the train was on display in late February 1967. The GPS location is approximate, based on where I think it was. It’s a faded slide, with digital restoration.

I knew a feller that worked on this train. Chess Maidment – sadly he passed in the last year but was friends with my in-laws in Sarnia. He’s from Newfoundland and settled in Ontario after a gig working on this train for a few months… said it had quite a few people employed dedicated to it.
