Comments on: …the CP Rail Oshawa yard job – servicing the GM yard…in Oshawa

Power: 1980 remanufactured MLW RS-18u #1804 (was #8740) and GMD 1959 built SW1200RS #8130 / 8143 / 8157

Some 8100′s rebuilt 1981-1985: #8130 to CP#1275; #8142 sold to Black River & Western in 1999; #8157 to CP#1243.

At the 401 / CP Rail overpass, April 19, 1981 Kodachrome by S.Danko

BTW, in the foreground, that’s a Michigan built ’76 to ’80 Dodge Aspen / Plymouth Volare – Chrysler’s successor to the Dart, Duster, Valiant series. Aspen / Volare could be ordered with a Mopar 360 cubic inch (5.9 Litre, two barrel carburetor) V-8 with a floor mounted four speed manual transmission, although it seemed that most were built with the 225 cubic inch slant six and a 3 speed automatic.

And at that time the 401 was simple: two lanes each direction.
