<title>Comments on: The day probably started out as any other Sunday, with word from the usual sources that GEXR was running an export special today with some good foreign merchandise heading to port, just released from the EMD/GMD London plant. So we made our way to downtown Brampton to frolic on the snowy hills of Sir Winston Churchill Park to wait for it to show.

Since there weren&#8217;t that many wide-open spots downtown, we perched ourselves on our favourite little hill by the Centre St. underpass by the &#8220;new&#8221; CN Peel interlocking, decently wide-open and right across from the emergency department entrance behind the old Peel Memorial Hospital (established in stuffy 1925, just freshly closed at the end of October 2007), not far from Ardglen Drive (that had a reputation I didn&#8217;t stick around to find out) and Trueman Street (also unsavoury). Lighting around 2:40pm in late November was &#8220;be happy this is what you get, it could be snowing&#8221;.

After the CN RTC squeezed an unremarkable CN #398 through Peel, right on his tail were three of GEXR&#8217;s best stray dogs of the pack, RLK GP35 2211 (ex-CP 5010), GP40 4096 (ex-CN 9306) and LLPX GP38-2 2236 (ex-LIRR 262) doing the honours of hauling the #432 &#8220;export special&#8221; and its five shiny blue and white EMD GT36HCW units for Algerian National Railways/SNTF, and four white GT42CWRM &#8220;Class 66&#8243; units for Euro Cargo Rail in the UK, plus EMD idler flats. The exact units today were SNTF 060DS02, 060DS03, 060DS04, 060DS05, 060DS06, EWS (ECR) 077006, 077007, 077008, and 077009 (the ECR&#8217;s were lettered but unnumbered, so their order may be scrambled for confusion). It still wasn&#8217;t wide-open enough here to get the whole train, but we did get individual shots of all the units.

After 432&#8242;s passing, we made our way to the VIA/GO station downtown on foot for a CN #399 and #148, before dining on Brampton&#8217;s finest pizza west of the 410 (Gusto&#8217;s, tell them Dan sent you) and made our way back home.</title>
