Comments on: The elusive Resolute Forest Products switcher, ex CN 1305 (last reported as DESX 1305) makes its infrequent, two mile run to a yard at the end of the CN Thorold spur. I had known about this operation for a while, and had made four attempts over the last 3 years to ‘catch’ it – just by chance – they run on an infrequent and seemingly random schedule – and this time I got lucky. What the line lacks in scenery is made up for in, well, variety – not many Green switchers out there in this Country. With only a single car – I kind of wonder how much longer this operation will last. The nearby Georgia-Pacific plant was idled in 2014 and the also nearby Hayes-Dana frame plant has been idle since 2008.
