Comments on: The ever popular (at the time) CN 6060 is seen returning to Toronto from the excursion to Niagara Falls. This view from the hillside at Hamilton Jct I understand is doable once again due to the leveling of the foliage by construction crews this past year. The train ran to the Falls and back twice weekly in summer, Wed and Sat., although in its last years it was often substituted with diesels due to various mechanical issues. On this day I elected to walk over to Ham Jct from Bayview for an angle that was different, for a change. Conditions at Bayview often became rather chaotic on account people visiting the Botanical Gardens adjacent would saunter down the hill to get a closeup view of the train’s passing.

Bit of an amusing post, Railway Lad; but thank you for the kind comment. Oh but what a beautiful majestic creation those locomotives were. I wished I had gotten out more to see 6060, but had to work. Did ride a few times down on the NF to Yager and back, but not to Toronto. Living in St. Catharines at the time; the drive to Niagara Falls for that little side trip was easy and fun. Think it was $10. :o)
You, Sir, did have a very memorial ride!

Mr. Mooney, I never tire looking at your beautiful pictures of 6060 ! I was too busy with new family, work (often Sat) to get out and photograph these excursions or ride them, although I did ride the 6060 powered special to Fort Erie when she delivered 6218 to her final destination. A quote from the musical Oliver comes to mind, “More Sir, please, may I have more !” Thanks for sharing.

Now you're just showing off! Ha ha...great find Arnold. Wish I was older to have even seen this happen. Too bad they don't do these things nowadays.....maybe the railways would wake up and realize people really still love the thrill of riding the rails.

Wonderful shot; wonderful memories although my rider was to Gravenhurst. Southern Ontario would be a better place if it was still here....and CN cared enough to run her......
