Comments on: The first of the “Sweeps”, CN #7100 sits awaiting next assignment in the diminutive yard off the Grimsby sub at mile 9.49. These unusual appearing locomotives are actually an SW1200RS switcher in a GP 9 shell, remanufactured with GP main generators, cooling fans and other such parts mated with the SWs, resulting in a model known as SW1200RM. The production took place at Pointe St. Charles main shops in the mid-’80s, and the units were sold off to CANAC in 2000. Seeing only eight (7100-7107) of these creatures were created, this was a rather rare bird.

Would I be right to assume that the two sets of lights we see were at the ballpark where the Baby Jays played? If so, that - once upon a time - was the location of my alma mater, Merritton High School.
