Yep, a buffer car on each end of the consist! The closest we came to another train was when standing at a terminal/yard during a station stop. Two buffers added 50% more to the consist! The only thing that gained with the addition of these two cars was unnecessary wear & tear on empty rolling stock, and additional fuel consumption. Ya just gotta shake your head!
