<title>Comments on: The former Dofasco 6, a 65-ton Whitcomb centre-cab switcher, is seen stored at CN&#8217;s Fort Erie yard on April 30th 1987.

According to Ray Kennedy&#8217;s Old Time Trains page, this unit was one of six ex-US Army Whitcomb 65-ton switchers acquired after World War Two for switching Dofasco&#8217;s internal trackage at their Hamilton plant. The last operable unit, it suffered an engine failure and was stored out of service in 1969. It was eventually moved to CN&#8217;s Fort Erie yards where it was stored for many years earmarked for preservation, but ultimately destroyed by arson.</title>
