Danko what’s interesting The last time I saw the CN green and gold livery on an in service CN unit (a 1200 series GMD SW1200RS ) was on the Geco Branch. Geco Branch had sharp curves, limited visibility and several crossings: special instruction employee timetable “ Geco ‘GO’ signal located on Geco branch, 3815 feet east of signal 3269. When the word ‘GO’ is illuminated it will indicate proceed to signal 3269 and there be governed by signal indication…..” part of the Geco Branch includes the former CNoR Toronto Montreal mainline …..as well as, the CNoR mainline route through what is now Taylor Creek Park – today a hydro right of way – to near the TTC Victoria Park Subway station; the above ground TTC Bloor Danforth Subway from Vic Park to Warden is on or parallel to the CNoR mainline; at TTC Warden Subway part of the CN Geco Branch is on the CNoR mainline route to near the Kennedy Road railway crossing (just south of Eglinton) where the Geco curves south to join the Uxbridge Subdivision mile 59.7 (switch points face south). further on, north of Ellesmere east of McCowan part of the TTC Scarborough RT yard is on the CNoR mainline route and way farther east, some of the remaining Cobourg industrial trackage north and parallel to the Kingston Subdivision is on the CNoR mainline route. And now today ( December 2019 ) we remember the GM ‘shwa plant(s)….. I also remember the bus driver cursing when we'd get stuck as a long line of auto racks was pulled across Warden ave. I loved it of course.
