Comments on: The Herzog Ballast train drew quite the crowd this day but everyone had to play the waiting game. CPKC 238 had to come from the west and clear down the Hamilton sub, then the Herzog crew had to finalize the drop points before heading out to drop ballast. In the mean time, the GEXR train made an appearance and they had to wait for the electrical contracting crew to hook up the wiring for the lights and gates after the CPKC track workers completed some ballast replacement on their line. They then proceeded to drop off their cars on the number one siding in sections to not cross the derail. GEXR 2073 is observed dropping its second cut of cars in to the siding. The pair of KCS SD70MAC’s in KCS 3928 and KCS 3937 would be about another hour before heading west to start dropping ballast on the Galt sub.
