<title>Comments on: The light drizzle has tapered off as H24 finishes its drop at Ardent mill. The switch used to access the mill appears to be on the list of being replaced soon by a new “lift frog” type. This is marked on the rail. This type of switch should reduce maintenance costs and wear to wheel flanges on the mainline, while it forces cars on the spur to hop over the rail at a slow speed. While the train and its run of the mill ECO’s were not anything special this day, I couldn’t resist catching them alongside the new switch. Many of hoped the switch was dropped here for connecting the old ADM spur back to the mainline but I’m pretty sure this sadly is not the case. Interesting too is that all the rail for the back track including the diamond are still intact within the Ardent facility, unfortunately not connected or used since Reid’s owned the property. The Canada grain car was a nice catch this day as well considering they are a dying breed these days.</title>
