I’m a little saddened by the talk lately that the GMD-1′s could be on the way out again. I do have good hopes that many of them will find homes elsewhere.

Oh, and for those that look for details, the 1081 still has its truck mounted sandboxes next to the fuel tank. CN removed most of theirs for clearance I believe.

I keep thinking about how I would have loved to shot trains like this. But one can’t be everywhere. This is a really ‘neat’ shot; or as they say these days “cool”.
