<title>Comments on: The local observers are bemused by the appearance of a CP train at the CN Barrie station: After the station stop, one two hundred fiftieths of a second is insufficient to freeze frame the acceleration provided by the aging ex CP Rail F units ( 1432 – 4477 – 14xx ) pulling the newly re-routed VIA Rail train #2.

Effective October 29, 1978 Via Rail ceased service on the CP Rail Mactier Subdivision and re-routed the transcon service onto the CN ( at CN Boyne – from CP Reynolds ) Bala Subdivision (north of Washago) and onto the CN Newmarket Subdivision south of Washago.

(What&#8217;s interesting: note the station signal board controlled by the station operator)
