Where would have the old Scarboro Jct station sat? I know it burned down long before I was born – I believe around 1960.

thank you for the feedback. A review of the 1978 schedule shows Via splitting the morning train at Brockville. (The evening trains operated separately). As you have suggested the image is likely train 54 The Capital, the rear portion of the train becomes #44 at Brockville. The Rapido #62 followed by 90 minutes out of Union. I believe’78 may have been the last year Via split trains at Brockville (excluding the
new J train concept today)

I believe that the caption for this is incorrect. I don’t think the train shown here is a Rapido. The consist, with a baggage car on each end and a club car in the middle suggests a train which splits in Brockville with sections for Montreal and Ottawa. Rapidos did not split en route. If the one shown here is a morning train, it likely is the “Lakeshore”.
