Comments on: The newest addition to the Southern Ontario Railway roster is GP38-2, RLHH 2081. On a very damp and dreary October day, the bright orange of the new G&W paint shines brightly. 2081 has quite the rich history, starting life as MEC 258, surviving a wreck on the MEC before a stint with HELM leasing as HLCX 3619. After HELM it was sold to the Ottawa Valley Rail Link where it became TOR 2000. The unit would arrive on the SOR as TOR 2000 in 1997, before being repainted and renumbered to RLK 3873, the number and reporting marks it carried until now. Thanks to Rob Smith for providing the interesting history on this locomotive.

G&W rebuilt and repainted RLK 4002 which became CBNS 1705 back in 2013. So I think we could see 4001 or 4003 go for rebuild/repaint

The GP9s would look good in G&W orange/black, but given their age that may not be in the cards.

Well then you should come to Brantford/Hagersville more often and hang out with me!

Sounds like 2301 and 2081 made it down to Hamilton between last night and this afternoon...so go shoot it!!!

This is great, but you Brantford/Nanticoke hogs get all the good power. :)

Hopefully some orange will trickle down to Hamilton.

You missed its stint on the NHVT as their 3800! I also neglected to note that TOR 2000 was not on the Southern Ontario Railway very long, as it spent several years on the Mackenzie Northern before returning as RLK 3873.
