Comments on: The old Whitby Junction station was built in 1903 at the foot of Byron St in town, roughly where the current GO platform is located. Station closed in 1969 and fortunately was moved in 1970 to Victoria & Henry Streets, as pictured here. Later it was moved across the street to Iroquois Park. It has been expanded and upgraded; restored inside to perfection, one might say, as the Station (Art) Gallery. It is fitting that a structure as beautiful as this was saved. The image reminds me of the days when I would go anywhere in any weather to shoot a station photo……..even over to the east side of (ugh) Toronto !!

After living there for a year during university, I understand the “ugh” quite well. Nice image, looks like it was a busy place.
