Comments on: The old Yahk station is long gone, as is a lot of the town. There used to be a water tower just to the west of the station but both have been razed and only transmission tower(s) are on the location now. The only thing the community is known for now is the “I’ve Been To Yahk and Back” tee shirts that have been sold at a local store for at least 50 years now. An amusing personal story is that some years ago, as in the mid-1980s, I was walking in Spencer Park in Burlington, Ontario, where I lived at the time, wearing my blue T-Shirt which read: I've Been To Yahk and Back". I bought this at the small store in Yahk. What are the odds that someone walking toward me was wearing the exact same T-shirt in the same colour!!!? Bought, of course, at the same store.
