Apparently South River is applying for a grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corp. (NOHFC) to examine the structural integrity of the building and to develop an architectural design.

@railwayguy It's a private group that runs the station hence plaques front. I'm not sure 100% who owns it but they were nice to show us around with pictures on the walls. They even let me know that a freight had just run through (so no point in waiting round for the next one. ;)

Very nice Terry, a much better looking structure than the VIA shack just beyond it. Let’s hope Premier Ford’s promise becomes a reality soon and not forgotten like so many other political announcements. Is this historic station still owned by CN or has a historical group taken it over ? Thanks for posting, John

Great photo. It brings back memories of when we had the cottage at Sundridge, also the many times working through there over the years. :-)

That's a nice wooden station that has stood the test of time. I once did a 'band' shot on the platform. Great to know it's there and will get proper use.
