Comments on: The race is on? Not quite :o) In this scene as shot from the hillside at the Botanical Gardens overlooking Bayview Junction, eastbound GO 902 on the south track is stopped on signal awaiting Hamilton-bound GO 708 which is passing on the north, (after crossing over) with GO 904 on the east end of train. Back in the two track days of the Oakville sub thru these parts GO used the south track, and the north was left open for CN and VIA as necessary. Not always was the window of opportunity available for a meet at this particular location though. Just luck and some good sunshine. Both of these former FP7 locos have been off the GO roster more than 20 years.

This is pretty fantastic! I must have missed this one before. It must have been a wonderful place to sit in the evenings. It's amazing how open it was compared to today.
