<description>A total of nine &#039;Gallery&#039; coaches (2 cab cars, 7 trailers) were constructed by Canadian Vickers Ltd. at their Montreal facility for Canadian Pacific in 1969. GO Transit borrowed several of the tall double deck cars for a number of weeks in 1974 to study in the development of their own bi-level coach which debuted in 1977. Compared to the Gallery layout, the full upper deck provided much greater capacity. Doubling the number of side doors addressed perceived slow loading/unloading of passengers during the study.
