Comments on: The sun didn’t feel like lighting this sweet area up for the shot but at least the shot was taken. GEXR 581 led by RLK 4095 an ex CN GP40 and piloted by an awesome crew notches the units up for the climb out of the Port of Goderich to the station up in town. They paused at the station (GEXR shop) for a quick break before running back to Stratford lifting cars at Seaforth Elevator on the way. The 16-cylinder turbocharged engine under 4095’s hood never disappoints in the high notches, at least for sound.

Very nice picture Liam, always interesting to see the Goderich Harbour, the salt mine and the blue waters of Lake Huron. With winter over, the salt semi-trailer trucks seem to have all disappeared. Agree with you how nice to see a GP40 and to listen to it as it revs up for the assault on the hill out of the harbour. It’s second best to CN 2-8-0 2347 which I photographed and filmed (8mm colour) on Sept 8, 1958 switching and then taking a run at the hill. Many thanks for sharing.
