Comments on: The TH&B Starlite on its’ way toward Hamilton was down to a crawl due to a work gang clearing; and this gave the engineer a chance to make friends with a couple of young lads that were ‘wowed’ by enjoying a moving train up close. The older fella I did not know either; but this scene has a bit of human side to it that is not seen very often anymore in this age of “rushing to make a dollar”.. And worse, this once popular train watching spot for people of all ages is now off limits. Long shadows means it is past 7PM as TH&B 74, 402 and 75 make their way along on what looks to be a nice summers’ eve.

Snake: I remember a Lindsay that hung out down there a long time back but I thought he moved away around that time, maybe 1980, but drove a big silver Grand Prix or something.

We used to go to that spot less than a decade later. I don't remember those shacks being there and of course by this time the Starlight was CP. Nice ride in the shot too.

Thanks, Peter. I love this shot because it is a "people picture". I look at scenes like this and wonder if the youngsters grew up to be train buffs and will recognize themselves in this image if they follow RP.
