<title>Comments on: The time is 11:10 &#8211; 10 minutes earlier I was photographing CP near Strathearne (click here for photo) when I heard sirens &#8211; sounded like the warning siren that goes off &#8211; as was the case as I took this photo &#8211; when the Transportation Department is in the plant with railway equipment. I was right and the wind was carrying sound just the right way. I made my way west down Burlington St just in time to catch the action.
In this scene, the Beltpack operator at the yellow door has just switched #89 to reverse, the headlight turned on and the crew is about to remove 6 loaded coil cars from the &#8220;z&#8221; Galvanizing line and place them in the outbound yard. Note: SW900 #89 was delivered new to Stelco in 1964 and has been here ever since. No ditch lights, plenty of modifications otherwise (Antennae, a fisheye camera just above the number 8, and a blue strobe light which seemed inoperative)
A Brakeman will ride the tail end of the movement into the yard &#8211; hence a two man crew. After, I realized I had one more shot to go for.. CP was returning to Kinnear after my shot at 11:00. Part 2 of &#8220;36 minutes in Hamilton.&#8221;</title>
