Comments on: The time is 18:26, and CN 69 has just arrived at Dorval. P204 is the tail-end power car for 69′s Montreal to Toronto 3 hour 59 minute run.
As 69 takes on passengers at its only westbound stop, the locomotive engineer on CN Extra 4595 East notches out the throttle for the final few miles to CN’s Taschereau Yard.

What an amazing and iconic shot Steve, not to mention the striking contrast of the green & gold geep with the space-age Turbo! All 47 of the 900 series NF110/210 as well as the 6 G8's were delivered to Newfoundland in that original paint scheme from 1952-1960 but by the time of your visit in 1988 all, as you would have observed, had been repainted up to an additional 3 more. Thanks for posting! Any chance of some of your scenes from the rock making an appearance? Sincerely, Ken Pieroway

I have never been to Dorval or anywhere in Quebec for that matter, but this photo is very interesting to me! and talk about perfect timing. Since we now know what Dorval looked like back in the day, I would like to see other stations in the CN era such as Brampton and Georgetown

Sorry to nitpick but in 1969 CN's hump yard in Montreal was called Montreal Yard. The name Taschereau Yard only came into use decades later.

Beautiful souvenir...
Passengers were due in the main shop at 3½-4 years,(c700,000 miles),a freight racked up the same mileage in about 10 years,.

Beauty! It's nice that some of those ol' green and yellow unit lasted into the 70's. CN seemed a bit slower repainting its freight power than passenger power.
