The white PVC tube is a Shunt Tube Enclosure and is designed to accommodate a track shunt for motion sensitive crossing control equipment. The Shunt Tube Enclosure can also be used as a junction for cable and track wires in high lightning areas for added circuit protection. Cable and track wires enter through the bottom of the enclosure. The enclosures are typically buried 8 to 10 feet from the rail to prevent interference with track maintenance machinery.</description>
