<title>Comments on: The&#8221;Canadian&#8221; makes its station stop at Portage la Prairie on a beautiful summer afternoon in 1984. Although the &#8220;Panorama&#8221; now runs Winnipeg-Edmonton (and three days per week to Prince Rupert), No. 1 is still handling the bulk of the transcontinental traffic&#8211;normally an 18-20 car train in the summer. Powered by an ABBB set of former CN F-units, just up ahead the Queen of the fleet will take the connecting track between CN and CP to resume its traditional route to the coast. (Also note the freight in the background near CP&#8217;s Portage la Prairie station, waiting to following the passenger west.)</title>
