Comments on: There are times, like today, when I look at photos of Niagara Falls CN yard (or Fort Erie, for that matter) and wonder where all the traffic has gone. Such a busy yard. On the left rolling over the main line is #331 with CN 2427 and 2407 the power. At least I know the demise of the 2400s on CN………….

The INfamous cyanamid plant. What an environmental horror show that was. Thankfully it closed down in 1992.

Appreciate the comment, Todd. In regards to the station; all the area between the former yard and the station is mostly run down or abandoned. This is what greets people who come to NF on the GO train. You would think there would at least be a coffee shop, or a drinking fountain or even a way into the station itself. But no.

Absolutely crazy how things deteriorated in the Falls. If I remember, the scenery certainly hasn’t improved much in this area or over at the station.
