Comments on: There was a time when I had a day off I just could not sit still and had to get trackside to see what was happening. On this particular day I found myself up on Dundas Peak before it was even daylight; and after a short wait of about 45 minutes I see a headlight. Eastbound.
With the old film camera it was not easy to get a decent shot in early daylight conditions seeing there is so much shadow along the line.
So, decided to incorporate a lot of the town of Dundas into the view and the results came out not too bad. CN 5030 is the leader on this train, followed by what I can tell is 9510 and a sister. Not sure on the 4th.
Shooting from this location is pretty much a thing of the past. Too complicated to talk about here, but I think it involves a steep fee, reservations, shuttle and restricted hours. That’s enough to scare me away.

You are so right.
I was copying an error out of my notebook, I guess.
Thanks for that, Sir.

OK, I'm going to be that horrid picky guy :). 5030 is a narrow-cab SD40. I'm guessing this is GP40-2W 9430,9530 or 9630 as there is no big porch on either end.
