Comments on: There’s a lot of history in this photo. Originally built in 1871, for the Wellington, Grey and Bruce railways, this is one of the only stations that still stands. It was closed to the public in 1982 and used as an administration office for the next 10 years as trains continued through the area. It has been used as a museum since 1999. Two old Vans sit along side from its CN era and the overhead steel walk bridge still stands. The Grand Trunk railway installed the bridge in between 1910 and 1912 when up to 40 trains a day went through the area and pedestrians and school children had a hard time getting over the train yard.

Last year my wife and I were heading to Port Elgin to visit friends and I wanted to stop at Palmerston to visit the museum.I went on-line to check museum information and found a contact name and e-mail address.I sent a message and received a prompt response asking when we would be in Palmerston and arrangements were made to meet at a specific date and time.Even though the museum was closed that day we were given a person tour.I don't have the museum web-site but it can be found on GOOGLE.
