Comments on: This area had its railroad beginning back in the days of the Lake Simcoe Junction Railway. Turn of the century. Eventually became Grand Trunk and then CN. The CN Sutton Sub became a spur by 1960. Service on the line ended in Aug 1979 and the tracks were pulled up beginning July 1981. This old shot gives an indication of the state of disrepair the old station was in by fall of 1976. It was very fortunate that a group with some foresight in regards to preserving the past started up the Georgina area Pioneer Village in 1975.
