Comments on: This fine Friday morning in Brampton actually finds a CPR maintenance machine resting on the long-disused Brampton siding just past the switch to the main as the bi-weekly short line freight is seen approaching on the main just before the switch with GMTX 333 in the lead. Time is 11:28 and if you note how only the rails of the siding are visible in front of the machine (the rest covered in dirt) it was only this past August when the city I believe more or less buried the rusty siding up to the double-tracked Nelson st crossing, well single-tracked now as the siding rails in the road were also resonantly patched over and from what I have heard, the siding will likely be removed sometime next spring but it’s only rumor so who knows what’ll happen. Thanks for your reply re: the machine in the siding. I'm pretty sure it is not a CP unit. The lack of a cab, LED running lights, LED perimeter lighting, 4" safety striping, dimensional data and a other items would suggest it is a contractors machine. On the east side was the shadowed side (towards the main) and on the west side there was actually another big construction machine on the ground right next to the MOW which is why I wasn’t quite able to get the side shot with good light coming down. I did take a behind photo tho and the number W0414 was written towards the bottom right (looks like in permanent marker) with a arrow pointing down right below but I wouldn’t know if the railway did that intentionally or if it was someone else.
