Comments on: This is a CP train operating on CN/’s Oakville Sub. Someone once told me what train this was, but I did not put it in my notes. I think it was a trackage rights situation, so that CP could access the Ford plant just to the west of this spot. I can’t be certain, but I think that I am at Winston Churchill Blvd. The signal bridge fits but the apartment just does not seem correct.

That's Oakville Yard proper as a controlled location on the Oakville Sub, you're over by Chartwell Road crossing and Trafalgar Rd is just behind the train by the lumber place that's off in the distance.

Yes this was trackage rights from the TH&B lease. This train would originate from the
CanPa' junction from CP tracks. Back in the day, having lived along the CN Oakville sub, we would see more CP run throughs to the Oakville Ford Plant as well as the Starlight that ran through to Bayview Jct than CN barring CN locals switching the Petro Canada Yard (now SunCor) in Clarkson. Speaking of locals, CP also switched the Clarkson Yard and the old St Lawrence Starch facility in Port Credit. Oakville Yard was always a great spot to railfan as both CP and CN switched and shared power and I even got to know the Yardmaster. Good times.
