The unit was involved in an unfortunate fatal grade crossing accident with a dump truck in August 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. After comparing the unit to photos at the crash site it has undergone some repair since the wreck but is still being sent to another shop for heavier repairs. The bulk of the damage is on the conductor side of the unit and not really visible from this angle but if you look closely you can tell the shield on the front is scuffed up and the hand rail is damaged. I hope the TRE crew was able to recover from the incident.
