Comments on: This is a typical train with typical power back in the 1990s as it rolls toward Port Robinson. I posted this because the old Grimsby station is an elegant place and is missed by the townsfolk. It was destroyed by an electrical fire about 6 months after this was taken. New Years Eve, Dec 31/94 it went up and was a total loss.
CN 5335, 5038 and 9649 is the power. Memories…………..

.... may I remind you folks that the 1855 Grand Trunk station is still there but used as an art gallery/store. it's behind the 1890 station and the now 2005 station (yes, it's not very nice) but at least it's still there.

The 1990-era shack (replaced in 2005 or so) is also on-site used as a shed :)

Unfortunately I think the new GO is to be a non-descript place (as will Stoney Creek) with a long canopy to keep passengers out of the elements in bad weather, rather than replicate a classic station. And it is to be located over opposite 'Gateway' by Casablanca Blvd. The Beamsville GO will be constructed by Ontario St. Lot of open ground available at both locations.

The present "station" is a disgrace.
Maybe GO will replicate this one when they open in a couple of years.
