Comments on: This location is known to the fans these days as the VIA Rail Maintenance facility/Willowbrook, near where also Toronto and GO facilites are located. However, before that, this was the location of that sprawling CN Mimico freight yard, a facility that eventually outgrew itself and was relocated to what is now MacMillan Yard up in Concord. The Mimico days were winding down around the time I shot this image of eastbound CN with three M420s and what looks to be a GP40 with a long string of boxcars passing the Tower. A modern day shot at this angle would be overshadowed by the Islington Av overpass, which would be not far behind the tower. I get the idea that this must have been one ‘sooty’ place back in the days of Steam. :o)

Appreciate the input, Slithery Snake. I was wondering about PFE but I was thinking the cars were more of a ‘white’ appearance…..this train was like clockwork thru Bayview everyday, and I had never logged the number.

That was 392…..the reefers at the headend were EB on the Oakville Sub back then
