Comments on: This, oddly enough, is one of my favourite photos. And there is no sign of a train. That exactly is what I like so much about it. Besides the obvious, there is something in this photo that is missing in today’s world. Tranquility. This is on a Sunday morning. This is back 40 years ago when once upon a time there was no Sunday business; no reason to get out of bed early. (Except for us crazies, of course) What little noise there was from the town below was muted by the softly falling snow. For many of us, getting trackside means getting away from life’s everyday hassles. And for me, sharing the early morning serenity with old Dundas station, well, it didn’t get much better than this.

I can certainly appreciate a place seeking solitude, thank you for sharing! Often enjoyed a few Saturday mornings around Snake or Dundas last year for the same reason.

Thanks, Paul. I should explain that I spent my life working with the public; seeing endless people daily caused me to eventually seek out the solitude in places like Dundas Station on a Sunday morning. In better weather; hanging out at Bayview Jct as it was permissible was usually the way us 'crazies' spent our railfanning weekends. Sometimes it got to be such a nutty crowd as we 'entertained ourselves' to pass the time, that we didn't see a train approaching and as a result bumbled the photograph. THAT got on my nerves. :o)

Fantastic shot of Dundas and the old station. Wish I had been around to enjoy that time. Sounds like an interesting back story about someone's demeaner in the past haha. Crazies Corner?

If I recall correctly...anytime "we" were around you and there were NO trains...your demeanor was "slightly" different than described here...one didn't want to be within 10 feet of your vehicle:)")
