Comments on: This photo was taken on my first trip to Kinmount. I never really realized it at the time, but I saw something that day. Now looking at this photo, I never realized how centred everything was around the bay window at the front of the station. Everyting is perfect…flowers, wagon and all! The station was beautifully painted in GTR (or CN) colours amd had been restored shortly after the rails were pulled up around 1984-1985. At one end of the station, you could visibly tell that the foundation had crumbled, as it caused the station to sag. On my last trip to Kinmount in 2008, the foundation was fixed, and a wooden ramp was added to the front of the station for wheelchair accessibility. This station has stood the test of time.

I do wish most of the time, that I could go back in time and see that era. Or earlier.

I first saw this station just after the line was embargoed north of Kinmount around 1980. A red flag was across the rails just north of Monck Road.
