Comments on: Those old days at Fort Erie. So much activity. I felt a huge loss when operations ceased there. Most days 8 or 10 locomotives could be found; some in the middle of heavy repair, some fueling and some set up and ready to take a train out when required. I like to think this is what this shot is all about. CN 2337 along with CN 4224 and CN 4596 are lined up looking ready to go. Did not record the other units. Oh well. Live and learn. In the background is the old Niagara Region Fort Erie water tower that I used as photo ID.

It look like the 4224 has had it’s partner unit removed recently. The step and chain are still down.

The best of times. 431-436, 432-433, were daily to Toronto pairs, 386-387 to Sarnia and sporadic oil trains. And always a mix of new and “the dregs” power…especially on the Toronto trains
