Comments on: THREE IN ONE!!! A good tip always helps when trying to photograph trains…especially if you don’t own a scanner. It’s Friday evening, and I had just gotten off of work. I saw a text on my phone from my wife who works in Tilbury. She let me know there was a train slowly making it’s way to Chatham. By this time, 20 minutes had passed between the time my wife sent the text and I received it. I knew the train was coming…

Inspired by a Bruce Mercer photo taken at King & Adelaide Streets downtown Chatham some 30 years prior, I setup shop on the opposite side of the tracks from where he took his photo. Just in the foreground remains the rails to what was the station lead. The station itself would have been straight ahead of me directly across the intersection. It is now marked by a mature growth of trees. And in rolled the train I had been waiting for…former SOO SD60 6036 (now CP 6236) with CSX 40 haul their auto racks past me. Canadian Pacific owned and yet a former SOO with the CSX as it’s second in command. Awesome start to the weekend.

Nice shot of CP 244. I was at work when it went by. CP 6236 was dropped by another 244 earlier in the day to be added to this train.
