Comments on: Time to bring out Form 3903 Accident Report!!! On a particularly dull late December 1966 afternoon, power for a westbound train, while backing off the shop track side swiped a yard movement which resulted in box car 427642 ending up on its side. Big hook 50022 was called in to re-rail the car.

Paul, thank you for the information on this crane as well as the pile driver. I had no idea these were that old. I knew that the 50022 was once steam powered and rebuilt to diesel power. If CN needed a heavier capacity crane, they called upon CP's 250 ton crane from Sudbury. Lots of variety back then!

CN 50022 was an Industrial Works 160 ton capacity crane, serial number 4296, built in 1922.
