Comments on: To the other end in the same month: I had a family trip to Montreal planned and with this operation high on my bucket list to get, and with very little time to try, I decided to just drive through the area on the way to downtown Montreal and got really really lucky. The french signs seem really out of place for CSX and I decided to place it in this soybean field as B786 headed to Huntingdon to lift some cars. I did not chase as I had no time for we had plans downtown, but this was a great capture to get on CSX’s home rails.

Bravo Steve. CSX 2247 began life in 1965 as SAL GP35 540.

Yes indeed on the lack of the lack of rad grills. It is the grill behind the cab, looks like the kind used on GP35′s. They even gave it modern trucks with the single brake cylinder and snubber.
