Comments on: Todays GEXR train 431 apparently had more tonnage then the three usual SD’s could handle, so it appears that extra power was added in the morning at Stratford. While I was hoping to catch the return trip of former GEXR GP38 #3821, now repainted and renumbered, this would be a decent replacement. The train is seen just west of Acton finally getting back up to track speed after climbing the Niagara Escarpment just east of town.

That makes sense then, I figured the extra power must have been out of Stratford rather the rescue power out of Kitchener. They still made good time up the Escarpment. Sorry no car count but was very big and still very slow approaching Rock Cut. Too bad they didn’t grab the repainted GP38 at Mac too

Marcus, 431 didnt make it out of mac thursday, and 432 was 3030/2301 east with cars to mac, returning in the lead after lifting 431. And i suspect two days of tonnage too. How many cars did you count?
